With so many great online platforms available in the market, it has become easier than ever to sell online courses from your own website.
A platform like Kajabi, though, takes it one step further by offering you all the features you need in a single place.
With Kajabi, you can not just build and deliver an engaging online course (or membership site) but you can also use the platform for marketing and building your audience.
It is by far the best platform in terms of features for building a digital products business. However, the platform comes with a higher price point than its competitors, and Kajabi pricing is a common objection that creators have to use it.

I often get questions like, “Why is Kajabi so expensive?“, “Will the pricing work for me?“, “Should I look for a cheaper Kajabi alternative?“, etc.
So I created this Kajabi pricing review to shed some light on the different pricing plans, what they offer, and how they compare to the competitors.
By the end of this article, you should be able to figure out whether Kajabi’s pricing will work for you or not, and which plan will be right for you.
Let’s get started.
Kajabi Pricing Overview
Kajabi offers three pricing tiers and “how much does Kajabi cost” will really depend on what plan you choose and whether you decide to pay monthly or annually:
- Basic Plan – $149/month ($119/mo paid annually)
- Growth Plan – $199/month ($159/mo paid annually)
- Pro Plan – $399/month ($319/mo paid annually)
Before we get into the details of what each plan has to offer, you should know that there are no transaction fees associated with any of the pricing plans.
So unlike some of the top online course platforms, the monthly price is the only amount that you’ll ever pay to Kajabi.
Now, let’s talk about the specific pricing plans. The first plan that Kajabi offers is the Basic Plan and it has nearly every feature that Kajabi has to offer.
So features like course player themes, mobile app, unlimited video hosting via Wistia, content dripping, Assessments, Community, website builder, sales funnel builder, email marketing tools, etc. are all available on the Basic Plan.
The next pricing tier in Kajabi is called the Growth Plan and it comes with three extra features — Automations, Affiliate Marketing and White-labeling, in addition to everything that the Basic Plan has to offer.
Speaking of Automations, it is a powerful feature that gives you the ability to automate various actions within the Kajabi app. For example, you can automatically give certain users access to a new product or generate unique coupons for them.
Limited Automations capability is present even on the Basic plan but the full Automations toolset can only be utilized on the Growth Plan and above.
As for Affiliate Marketing, you get the ability to add affiliates, create unique share links, track sales, etc. and with White-labeling, you can remove Kajabi’s branding from your front-end website and members area.
Another difference between the first two tiers is in terms of customer support. While you get live chat support from 9am – 7pm, Monday – Friday on the Basic Plan, you get 24X7 chat support on the Growth Plan.
Now the Pro Plan is very similar to the Growth Plan in terms of the features available except that it allows you to edit your theme code which isn’t possible on the lower tiers.
An important thing that you would notice about Kajabi’s pricing is that the plans don’t differ significantly from each other in terms of the features included rather they differ more in terms of the number of products, pipelines, contacts, active members, and websites you can have.
So on the Basic plan, you can create up to 3 digital products and 3 sales pipelines, maintain up to 1,000 active members and 10,000 contacts.
Now, these limits are significantly higher on the Growth Plan. You can create up to 15 digital products and 15 sales pipelines while keeping as many as 25,000 contacts and 10,000 active members.
Finally, Kajabi’s Pro Plan lets you have up to 100,000 contacts and 20,000 active members along with up to 100 digital products and 100 sales pipelines.
Moreover, you can also have up to 3 different websites compared to only one website on the Basic and Growth Plans.

Generally speaking, the limits on various elements on the different plans work fine except the limit on the number of Products you can create on the Basic Plan which in my opinion is restrictive.

Apart from these main pricing tiers, Kajabi has introduced a new offering called Access.
By paying an additional $99/month, you’ll get 1:1 sessions with a Customer Success Manager and weekly Hero Hub office hours with the team and you’ll also be able to double the limits for the number of products, members, sites, etc. on your current plan.
If you’re wondering about any Kajabi discounts available, generally they don’t have any coupon codes or hidden offers but you can get a 20% discount if you choose the annual payment option.
As you’ve seen, Kajabi doesn’t have a free plan but they do offer a 14-day free trial for all their pricing plans so that you can try the platforms without any risk.
In a nutshell, all of the three Kajabi Plans are quite feature-rich and good enough to build your entire online course business. What’s more important for you to figure out is whether Kajabi’s pricing will work for you or not and that’s what we’ll discuss next.
How Does Kajabi Pricing Compare with Competitors?
- Free plan: $0/month on both platforms
- Basic plan: $39/month on Teachable and $49/month on Thinkific
- PRO Plan: $99/month on Thinkific and $119/month on Teachable
- Business/Premier Plan: $299/mo on Teachable and $499/mo on Thinkific
As you can see, both Teachable and Thinkific have kind of similar pricing, and they are clearly less expensive than Kajabi.
However, Kajabi’s pricing vs Teachable/Thinkific’s pricing is not a straightforward comparison as the platforms differ significantly in terms of the features offered — so you’d need to go into more details before reaching a conclusion.
Firstly, if you wanted to use all or even most of the features of Teachable or Thinkific, you’d need to be on their $119/mo and $99/mo plans respectively as they severely limit the features available on their Free and Basic plans.
For example, Thinkific doesn’t let you create a membership on the lower tiers and you’ll need to be on the PRO Plan to get access to their membership site features.
Similarly, Teachable charges a 5% transaction fee on the Basic Plan and you can avoid that by switching to the Professional Plan.
Secondly, Kajabi is unique as an all-in-one solution. So along with its course creation and delivery features, it also provides you with several marketing tools including a blog builder, a sales pipeline builder, a shopping cart solution, email marketing software, etc.

So if you were to use Teachable/Thinkific vs Kajabi, you’ll require to use several third-party tools for these capabilities, and obviously, you’ll pay separately for all of them.
If we were to do a conservative estimate of what you’d be paying in this case:
- Theme, plugins, and hosting for the blog: $25/month – $50/month
- Leadpages for landing pages: $37/month – $79/month
- ConvertKit for email marketing: $29/month – $119/month
So you can easily end up paying more than a hundred dollars a month for these additional tools. If you add that to Teachable/Thinkific’s cost, you’ll spend similar to (or even more than) what you’d pay with Kajabi.
Add to that, all the time and effort you save by using a single platform instead of patching together several different tools, and you’ll find Kajabi to be a great investment.
Having said that, Teachable and Thinkific have a much lower entry-level price which makes their pricing more beginner-friendly.
Another platform that Kajabi is often compared with is Kartra. Kartra is an all-in-one marketing platform that also has an inbuilt membership site builder.
Its pricing starts from $99/month and generally speaking, it is cheaper than Kajabi. Plus you get all the features on all the plans which is awesome.
However, Kartra’s membership site builder isn’t that great and I don’t recommend using it. And so when you use a platform like Thinkific with Kartra, you actually end up paying more.

As far as ClickFunnels is concerned, it is again primarily a sales and marketing platform and its pricing starts from $97/month.
On the starter plan, what you get is their sales funnel builder. In order to get access to its affiliate marketing suite (BackPack) and marketing automation platform (Actionetics), you’ll need to upgrade to the Etison Suite, which costs $297/month.
Plus ClickFunnels doesn’t have a website builder or blogging features and has limited membership site capabilities.
So Kajabi definitely offers a lot more value for money than ClickFunnels and will be significantly cheaper in almost all cases.
In a nutshell, the answer to whether or not Kajabi’s pricing works better for you than its competitors depends mainly on what features you need.
If you only need a platform to host courses and accept payments, platforms like Thinkific and Teachable will any day turn out to be more reasonably priced options than Kajabi.
But if you need a platform that you can run your entire (or a major part of) online course business on, Kajabi is definitely the right choice and in this case, the pricing should work well for you.
Kajabi Pricing – What’s the Best Plan for You?
Now that you know how Kajabi is priced and how its pricing compares to the competitors, it’s time to help you figure out the best pricing plan for you.
As discussed previously, Kajabi has three pricing tiers, and if you want to launch a new business, their entry-level plan, the Basic Plan will be ideal for you.
It has all the features you need to kickstart your online course business, and even the limits on elements like products, pipelines, contacts, and active members should be sufficient for you in the beginning.
As you start scaling your business, you can upgrade to Kajabi’s Growth Plan as it offers much higher limits on the number of products, pipelines, contacts, active members, etc. within your account.
Once you’re on the Growth Plan, you can stay on the plan for a long time as the plan offers all the features that Kajabi has to offer and has sufficiently high limits for all the elements in your account.
If you have multiple brands and you want to have separate websites and membership areas for them, you should go with Kajabi’s Pro Plan.
Finally, if you want to get more personalized support from the Kajabi team in setting up your platform or you want to increase the limits on your existing plan, you may want to add the Access Add-on to your Kajabi plan.
So choosing the right Kajabi pricing plan for your business should be pretty straightforward, and it should mostly depend on what stage of the business you are at, and what your requirements are.

There are a few elements of Kajabi pricing that can be confusing to a lot of users and I’ll try to answer some of those popular queries in this section:
1. Does Kajabi have any transaction fee?
No, Kajabi doesn’t charge any transaction fee on any of its plans. However, you’ll still be paying a processing fee (2.9% + 30 cents) to your payment processor – Stripe/PayPal.
2. What is the difference between a member and a contact on Kajabi?
A member is someone who has access to one of your products and has a user account on your website. On the other hand, a contact is someone who has opted into your email list but doesn’t have a member account.
3. How does Kajabi count active members?
An active member on your Kajabi website is someone who has logged into his member area and performed certain actions, e.g. completing a lesson, taking an assessment, etc. within the past 30 days.
4. Is there a limit on website visitors?
No, Kajabi doesn’t put any limit on the number of website visitors you can have. The only limit is in terms of contacts and members.
5. Does Kajabi have a money back guarantee?
Yes, Kajabi has a 30-day money-back guarantee wherein you can get a refund within 30 days of your first payment.
6. Do I need a credit card to start a Kajabi trial?
