Kajabi is a well-rounded, all-in-one platform, and one of its standout features is certainly Funnels.
If you want to use Kajabi Funnels to attract new audiences and convert them into customers, this article is for you.
While Funnels is easy to use, it can be overwhelming if you’ve never created one before. Considering the number of features that come with Kajabi, it’s not surprising that you want guidance on using them.
In this tutorial, we’ll take an in-depth look at Kajabi Funnels, highlighting its use cases and unique features. We’ll also give you a step-by-step tutorial on creating a funnel in a few simple steps.
So, without further ado, let’s get into it.
Overview of Kajabi Funnels
While Kajabi is an online course platform, it also includes a sales funnel software.
Kajabi Funnels (earlier known as Kajabi Pipelines) is a feature that simplifies the relationship between marketing and sales by connecting your optin pages, email campaigns, sales pages, and products, bringing them together under a funnel.
A very helpful characteristic of this feature is that you don’t have to create a new funnel from scratch.
In fact, Kajabi offers multiple funnel templates with preset structures, and you can pick the one that best suits your needs. These funnel templates are designed for various use cases.
For example, if you want to collect email addresses from your visitors in exchange for a digital download, such as a checklist, an ebook, etc., you can use the Freebie funnel template.
When you choose a template, Kajabi will automatically create all the required steps in your funnels. In this case, your funnel will have an optin page, an email sequence, and a thank you page.
While templates are there to make your job easier, you can customize every aspect of your funnel apart from adding or removing funnel steps.
The best thing about Kajabi’s funnel builder is that it supports in-line editing, so you won’t have to leave the builder to edit the funnel steps. The builder opens the individual editors in the same interface, which makes for a great user experience.
As far as pricing is concerned, the funnel builder is available on all Kajabi plans, though the number of supported funnels varies depending on the plan.
Now that you know what Kajabi Funnels is, let’s move to the tutorial on creating a funnel.
How to Create a Funnel in Kajabi
Creating funnels in Kajabi is straightforward. To get started, you first have to go to the admin dashboard.
If you’re already subscribed to Kajabi, you just need to log in to your account. Otherwise, you’ll first need to start a free trial.
Go to Marketing -> Funnels from the admin area and click + New Funnel.
This will show you a selection of funnel blueprints to choose from. The list includes:
- Freebie
- Sales Page
- Product Launch
- Zoom Webinar
- Free Book
- Coaching Campaign
- Simple Sales Page
- Blank
With the Blank template, you’ll start with a blank slate and then create all the funnel elements on your own.
However, we recommend starting with a funnel template, as working with a blank template is more complex, especially if you’re not experienced in funnel building.
To illustrate the process of creating a funnel, let’s choose a Freebie template and click Get Started.
You’ll be asked to name the funnel and upload the lead magnet file you’ll offer to your email subscribers. Then, click Save.
After you click Create Funnel, you’ll see a sequence consisting of a default optin page, an email sequence, and a thank you page. You can customize each part to your liking and add new custom elements to the funnel.
You can start by editing the optin page. To edit any step in your funnel, you need to click on that element.
Then, Kajabi will open the editor on the right, allowing you to make the necessary changes.
When you click on the optin page, you can customize the page design, including the text and appearance of the form, add a new section, and customize the header and footer.
To edit the form settings, click on the form icon under the optin element.
Here, you’ll be able to modify the form title, select between single and double optin and decide what information to collect from your subscribers.
You can also enable additional options like sending a custom confirmation email to new contacts or redirecting them to a custom confirmation page.
Next, you can edit the automation rule by clicking on the email icon below the optin page step.
You can also add a new automation rule to take a specific action when a user submits the optin form.
Kajabi Automations is a feature that lets you automate your marketing workflows. Check out our in-depth guide to learn more about it.
After you’ve customized the optin page, it’s time to move on to the email sequence.
To edit the sequence, click the Freebie email sequence inside the funnel builder. The default email sequence has one welcome email, which you can customize.
To do that, click on the email title, and you can decide when to send the email, modify the subject line, and also edit the email body content.
To add a new email, click on the Add New Email button in the top right corner of your screen. You can add as many emails as you see fit by repeating this step.
You can also configure the timing of these emails by selecting after how much time the subscriber will receive the email.
After the emails are done, it’s time to edit the thank you page.
The default thank you page comes with a hero section, but you can add or remove sections as you’d like, choosing from over 40 section templates available on Kajabi.
Your freebie funnel is now ready, and we’ll show you how to extend its functionality further.
Extend Your Kajabi Funnel
While the templates are pretty well done, you can always extend their functionality by adding new elements.
For instance, you can add new elements between existing sections or towards the end of a funnel.
Let’s say you want to promote your Kajabi course at the end of the funnel. In this case, you can add a sales page to promote your product and a checkout page to complete the purchase.
To do that, hover over the timeline after the thank you page, and you’ll see the Add Page option. When you click on that, Kajabi will give you the option to create a new landing page or choose an existing one.
If you hover below that area, you’ll see the option to add an offer. The corresponding checkout page will appear in the funnel when you do that.
This is just an example. You can add as many elements as you like and expand the funnel’s functionality however you please.
This is how you create and customize a sales funnel in Kajabi. Once done, you can click Copy Link at the top to start sharing the funnel.
However, please test the funnel before sharing it to ensure that everything is working as expected.
Finally, if you want to see the stats for your funnel, you can click the View Stats button. This will open a popup and show you all the statistics for it.
Kajabi Funnels Use Cases
Now that you understand what Funnels is and how to create one, let’s delve into some practical examples of how Kajabi creators utilize the feature.
Collect Leads and Engage Them
The most simple yet widespread use case of funnels is to turn website visitors into subscribers and engage them, and the Freebie funnel is a great example of that.
For example, you can entice your visitors to subscribe to your mailing list in exchange for a free resource. This works well for building a list of potential clients for your products.
After they subscribe, you can use an automated email sequence to teach them something of value, share valuable resources, and tell them more about your product.
Email marketing is an excellent way to get subscribers to know, like, and trust you.
Kajabi Funnels make this process smoother, letting you build optin pages, email sequences, and a thank you page together under one funnel.
Run a Marketing Webinar
Kajabi can also be used to run a webinar. Whether you want to run a webinar to build your email list or sell your online courses, you can do it using Funnels.
In fact, among Kajabi’s many funnel blueprints, you’ll see one titled Webinars.
This funnel type includes an optin page, pre and post-webinar emails, a confirmation page, the webinar room, and a thank you page so that you can create an end-to-end webinar funnel with ease.
The only thing you’ll need outside Kajabi is a live streaming solution, and we recommend using Youtube Live, which is completely free.
Launch Your Online Course
If you want to launch your online course using the Product Launch Formula (PLF), you can do that using Kajabi Funnels.
Among the funnel templates, you’ll see one titled Product Launch, which you can use to do a PLF-style launch. It has an optin page, a sequence of ten emails, three value pages, and a checkout page at the end.
Value pages are where you can share your video content and drip them over time. Your video content should teach something of value and be related to your main product.
At the end of the video series, you should convince users to purchase your primary offer, so your last value page should include a call to action to the offer checkout page.
While these are some common funnel use cases, you can do much more with this feature. Here are some more use cases:
- Create a booking funnel to sell Kajabi coaching
- Combine it with Kajabi Assessments to segment your audience
- Create a free trial funnel for your Kajabi membership site
- And more!
Conclusion
Funnels is a powerful and versatile tool that will help you market your product more effectively and turn visitors into customers.
What makes this feature more useful is that Kajabi offers a wide variety of blueprints that already include the funnel’s most essential parts, including email sequences.
Finally, the editing experience in the funnel builder is top-notch, making it easy to set up and customize funnels to your liking.
