Recommended Tools for Creating & Selling Online Courses
On this page you’ll find recommendations for tools that will help you create, market and sell online courses. Selecting the right set of tools allows you to focus on the core of your business and is thus a super critical factor in determining the success of your online course business.
However, keep in mind that just getting the right online tools won't guarantee you success online. It's equally important to create great content, have right strategy in place and put effort into growing your business.

Create an Online Course
Teachable: The #1 Online Course Platform
Teachable is my #1 recommendation when it comes to choosing an online course platform. I have been been selling courses using the Teachable platform since 2015 and I have found it to be a feature-rich but at the same time very easy to use course platform.
With Teachable, you can build your course (or membership) site, host & protect your content, hide it behind a paywall and deliver the content to the students and you can do all this even if you have no coding skills.
Teachable is very reasonably priced and you can start on their free plan if you just want to test the waters.
Camtasia: Screen Recording and Video Editing Software
Camtasia is what I use for recording and editing all my training videos! It makes it really easy to create high quality videos for teaching and marketing online courses.
With Camtasia, you can easily record your screen and webcam, make edits and add video effects. You can use Camtasia on both Mac and PC and you can follow their step-by-step tutorials to get started.
Blue Yeti: Microphone for High Quality Audio Recording
Nothing is as important for your videos as quality audio and Blue Yeti is the best option for recording high-quality audio for a reasonable price.
Blue Yeti is an USB mic with plug-n-play functionality and is compatible with both Mac and Windows.
Logitech C920 Webcam: Good Quality Video on Budget
Logitech is a very popular webcam that lets you record decent quality talking head videos on budget. You can also use it with your screen capture software (e.g. Camtasia) to record both your screen and your face.
Build a Sales Funnel
ClickFunnels: The Sales Funnel Builder
ClickFunnels is the most powerful sales funnel builder in the market and is what I use for building landing pages and sales funnels.
With ClickFunnels, you can build landing pages including sales pages and checkout pages, accept payments, add upsells and downsells to your funnel and you can even create an affiliate program.
If you're serious about selling products online, you should add ClickFunnels to your marketing arsenal.
ConvertKit: The Power of Infusionsoft but Easier to Use than Mailchimp
Nothing is more important for your business than building an engaged email list. And when it comes to list management and email marketing, ConvertKit is my favorite solution.
ConvertKit offers really powerful automation features but at the same time is super easy to use. You can also use ConvertKit to create opt-in forms and basic landing pages.
I have been using ConvertKit since 2016 and it has helped me build and grow my email list.
Deadline Funnel: Robust Solution for Creating Evergreen Deadlines
Deadline Funnel is a robust solution that allows you to incorporate real scarcity into your evergreen sales funnels and make them convert better. It further allows you to add animated timers to your sales pages and emails.
Its a powerful marketing tool and can significantly boost your conversions. However, I don't recommend you to use Deadline Funnel unless you are already making some money online.
Create a Blog
Thrive Themes: The Ultimate Marketing Suite for WordPress
If you use WordPress or want to have a WordPress blog, you have to use Thrive Themes products.
Thrive Themes offers WordPress themes, lead generation tools, page builder, scarcity marketing plugin and other solutions that will help convert your website traffic into money.
You can either buy individual products by paying a one-time price or buy an annual subscription to get their all access membership.
SiteGround: Affordable Premium WordPress Hosting
I have used GoDaddy, Bluehost and Inmotion Hosting on my websites before switching to SiteGround. In my opinion, SiteGround is the best shared hosting option out there and my experience with it has been nothing but great.
Their servers are optimised for WordPress, hosted on full SSD hardware, support HTTP2, PHP 7 and have built in server level cache. They also offer free SSL certificate, built in Cloudflare integration and excellent tech support.
Webinar Ninja: Robust Webinar Solution
Webinar Ninja is a powerful webinar solution that lets you create both live webinars as well as evergreen webinars. It is super easy to use and you can setup your webinar in a few minutes.
It is much more robust compared to WebinarJam and EverWebinar and you should consider using it if you want to sell your online courses through webinar.
Google Analytics: The Best Analytics Solution
"Unless you measure it, you can't improve it." That's true for your course business as well.
Google Analytics allows you to get stats for every stage of your sales funnel, you can track stats related to site visits and conversions and you can analyze all the stats by campaigns, traffic source and several other parameters.
Canva: The Photoshop Killer
Canva is the ultimate graphic design tool for non-designers. You can use it to design social media images, create course slides, design PDF worksheets etc.
Canva is easy to use and the best part is that they offer a lifetime free account.
