Recommended Tools for Selling Courses Online
On this page you’ll find recommendations for online tools that will help you create, market and sell online courses. Selecting the right set of tools allows you to focus on the core of your business and is thus a super critical factor in determining the success of your online course business.
However keep in mind that just getting the right online tools won't guarantee you success online. It's equally important to create great content, have right strategy in place and put effort into growing your business.

The Essential Tools...
Teachable: A Robust Online Course Platform
Teachable is my #1 recommendation when it comes to choosing an online course platform. I have been been working with Teachable course creators since 2015 and I have found it to be the easiest to use and most feature rich course platform.
With Teachable, you can build your course(or membership) site, host & protect your content, hide it behind a paywall and deliver the content to the students and you can do all this even if you have no coding skills.
Teachable's pricing starts at $0/month and you can upgrade to one of their paid plans when you are ready for it.
ClickFunnels: The Sales Funnel Builder
ClickFunnels makes it really easy to build, test and improve sales funnels. I don't think there is another tool that makes creating funnels as easy as ClickFunnels.
ClickFunnels is what I use and recommend when it comes to building sales funnels (and landing pages). You can build all sorts of funnels, do A/B tests and create basic membership sites.
It is a premium solution and the pricing starts at $97/mo. ClickFunnels is in a different league as far as building sales funnels is concerned and if it fits your budget, I recommend you to give it a try.
ConvertKit: The Power of Infusionsoft but Easier to Use than Mailchimp
Nothing is more important for your business than building an engaged email list. And when it comes to list management and email marketing, ConvertKit is my favorite solution.
ConvertKit offers really powerful automation features but at the same time is super easy to use. You can also build basic landing pages and email optin popups using ConvertKit.
I have been using ConvertKit since 2016 and it has helped me build and grow my list. I have introduced 100s of my 1:1 client to ConvertKit and each one of them will tell you that switching to CK was one of the best business decisions they made.
Thrive Themes: The Ultimate Marketing Suite for WordPress
If use WordPress or want to have a WordPress blog, you have to use Thrive Themes products. Thrive Themes offers WordPress themes, lead generation tools, landing page builder, scarcity marketing plugin and other solutions that will help convert your website traffic into money.
I use Thrive Themes for all my websites including this one and I can tell you that it has been one of the best tools that I have ever invested in.
You can either buy individual products or get their all access membership. I recommend you become a member as it is affordable and you get access to all the wonderful products.
Siteground: Affordable Premium WordPress Hosting
I used GoDaddy, Bluehost and Inmotion Hosting on my websites before switching to SiteGound. Siteground is the best shared hosting option out there and my experience with it has been nothing but great.
Their servers are optimised for WordPress, hosted on full SSD hardware, support HTTP2, PHP 7 and have built in server level cache. They also offer free SSL certificate, built in Cloudflare integration and excellent tech support.
Other Recommended Tools...
Demio: A Robust but Affordable Webinar Solution
Webinars are one of the most effective ways to sell online courses and I have tested different solutions including WebinarNinja, WebinarJam, Demio etc.
I have found Demio to be the most robust platform while being reasonably priced at the same time.
A lot of big names in the industry including ConvertKit and SamCart use Demio for doing webinars.
Deadline Funnel: Robust Solution for Creating Evergreen Deadlines
Deadline Funnel is a robust solution that allows you to incorporate real scarcity into your evergreen sales funnels and make them convert better. It further allows you to add animated timers to your sales pages and emails.
I don't recommend you to use Deadline Funnel unless you are already making some money online.
InfusionSoft: CRM Solution for Small Businesses
InfusionSoft combines everything a small business needs—contact management, CRM, marketing automation and e-commerce—into a single online system.
InfusionSoft is not for you if you're just getting started. It can be expensive plus it is too complex for beginners to handle. So I recommend that you watch their free demo and do further research before buying one of their plans.
Proof: Show Social Proof on Your Website
If you have seen some cool boxes appearing on websites with a message like 'John just bought a Free Trial' etc. and want to do that on your website, Proof will help you do that.
Proof helps add social proof to your landing pages and sales pages and can significantly boost your conversions.
Google Analytics: The Best Analytics Solution
"Unless you measure it, you can't improve it." That's true for your course business as well. Google Analytics allows you to get stats for every stage of your sales funnel, you can track stats related to site visits and conversions and you can analyze all the stats by campaigns, traffic source and several other parameters.
Zapier: Powerful Automation Tool
Zapier is an automation tool that allows you to automate tedious tasks that you would otherwise do manually.
Zapier currently integrates with over 400 apps, including Teachable, ConvertKit, ClickFunnels, SamCart, WordPress, PayPal and many more online apps.
Zapier pricing starts from $0/month and you can start on their free plan.
ConvertPlayer: Powerful Video Marketing
ConvertPlayer allows you to add opt-ins forms and call to action buttons inside Youtube and Vimeo videos which you can then embed on your website. You might have seen a few videos on this website which require you to optin before you can watch it.
If you create a lot of video content, you should try ConvertPlayer.
Canva: The Photoshop Killer
If you sell courses or even just run a blog, you will require all kinds of graphics. Before Canva, you had two options: use stock photos or hire somebody to create graphics for you. Now with Canva, anyone can design graphics and the best part is that Canva is absolutely free.
Bonjoro: Send Personalized Video Messages
Bonjoro is one of those tools that can help you build a personal relationship with your customers and boost engagement.
I got to know about this tool from my friend David from Drone Launch Academy. He uses Bonjoro to send a personalized a video message to his new students.
I know sending personalized video messages might not be feasible for everyone. However you can test it for your signature courses which are high ticket digital products with lesser number of students.
